In memory of our son, Jimmy Ganley. Jimmy was 22 years old when he died by suicide in 2004. Jim and Ann Ganley, to commemorate their son's life, want to promote mental health awareness. The Ganley Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, created a Crusade for Awareness. The Crusade will endeavor to educate teens and their parents about the signs of depression. The objective would be to recognize the signs in themselves and in their peers. Through education, the program will provide the factual information and thereby reduce the stigma associated with depression and other related neurobiological disorders. Understanding the signs of depression will help in eliminating the stigma and fear that keep many sufferers from seeking help. |
